Anonymous asked: who is the national team coach of Italy?

Answer:

Right now it’s Paolo Pedrotti, who is also the coach of Francesca De Agostini at her home gym.

But the girls on the Italian team all train in different gyms with different coaches, Pedrotti is present at camps, tests and competitions as the coordinator of the Italian team but he doesn’t actually train all the girls everyday.

Until 2008 the national team coach was Enrico Casella (who is also Vanessa Ferrari and Erika Fasana’s coach)

Vanessa Ferrari - La più forte ginnasta italiana di tutti i tempi - pre Londra 2012 (by TheThaliaGroup)

Short documentary about Vanessa Ferrari

Brief summary: Vanessa says she started gymnastics when she was 7 in her hometown, a year later she started training in Brescia and started doing two training sessions everyday when she was nine, while going to school in the evening and she says it was very hard.

Then her coach says he wants her to be healthy in London so that she can compete at her best and have fun doing it, because she didn’t enjoy her experience in Beijing at all, she was injuried and had to stop training for a month and a half one month before the olympics.

Vanessa says that, now, she wishes she didn’t even go to Beijing because it was a bad experience for her and wants to be at her best in London to have a better experience and have fun.

My comment: In that footage from Beijing she looks so thin!!! Now she looks a lot healthier and I think she’s gotten really pretty :)

Also, I feel really bad for her and her bad experience in Beijing. She had so much pressure on her by her coaches, her parents, the media, the italian federation and also herself, plus she was in bad physical shape and couldn’t perform at her best, I remember after the AA she was being interviewed and just started crying and went away, it was heart breaking. I really hope she can redeem herself in London and have a good time.

Answer:

Thank you! I’m glad you like my Tumblr and find the subtitles for Ginnaste useful! Unfortunately we still have to upload a lot of episodes but we downloaded them from another youtube user who hasn’t uploaded any in a while.

The second season of the show starts this week :)
